State Representative Brian Lorenz (R-Powell) has announced the opening of applications for the USDA Supplemental Disaster Relief Program (SDRP). This program aims to provide financial assistance to farmers who were affected by natural disasters in 2023 and 2024. A total of $16 billion in federal funding is available.

“Delaware County is no stranger to natural disasters. Especially, the tornados that swept through our County in 2024," said Lorenz. “The SDRP is a resource for property owners of Delaware County to apply for assistance for projects related to storm damage. My office is here to help and answer any questions you might have.”

Eligible producers include those who suffered losses due to natural disasters occurring in calendar years 2023 and/or 2024. These disasters encompass wildfires, hurricanes, floods, derechos, excessive heat, tornadoes, winter storms, freeze (including a polar vortex), smoke exposure, excessive moisture, qualifying droughts, and related conditions.

To apply for SDRP, producers must submit the FSA-526 form along with other necessary documents on file with FSA.

For more information on how to apply, interested parties are encouraged to visit the appropriate resources.
