Ohio House approves resolution for Nurses Week

State Representative Brian Lorenz announced that the Ohio House of Representatives has passed House Resolution 87. The resolution aims to establish Nurses Week in Ohio, recognizing the contributions of nurses and health professionals from May 6-12, 2025.

The legislation acknowledges the critical role played by these professionals in maintaining the health and well-being of residents across the state. Lorenz stated, "Nurses are truly the unsung heroes of our healthcare system," highlighting their dedication during crises and commitment to providing care.

Lorenz emphasized that establishing a formal Nurses Week is a way to honor the legacy and ongoing contributions of nurses today. According to the Ohio Board of Nursing, there are over 300,000 licensed nurses and related health professionals in Ohio.
