State Senator Andrew Brenner recognized students from Delaware Hayes High School for their achievement in winning the NASA App Development Challenge. Their victory in this prestigious competition earned them an invitation to the Johnson Space Center.

"This is an extremely accomplished group of young Ohioans," stated Senator Brenner. "Through their hard work, perseverance, and resolve, they created a nationally competitive solution to a literal astronomical problem. I look forward to watching all that these students will achieve in their future endeavors."

The NASA App Development Challenge tasks middle and high school students with solving technical challenges related to deep space exploration missions. Participants this year developed a video application visualizing the Artemis II flight path. Students had ten weeks to complete their projects while considering critical communications factors.

The acclaimed Delaware Hayes team consisted of Madeline Bruns, Nat Zahniser, Jason White, Elise Buckerfield, and Isaac Highman, under the guidance of their advisor, Joanne Meyer.
