The House Energy Action Team (HEAT) has expressed strong support for President Trump's recent executive actions aimed at bolstering American coal production. The executive orders were signed during a ceremony at the White House and are intended to ensure the reliability of the nation's energy in the future.

HEAT Chairman Troy Balderson (OH-12), Vice-Chair Randy Weber (TX-14), and Article One Chair Harriet Hageman (WY-AL) conveyed their approval in a joint statement. They remarked on the necessity of the actions, criticizing what they called "Biden's war on coal," which they believe threatened the power grid's stability. "Today's executive orders slash job-killing regulations, supercharge coal leasing on federal lands, and designate metallurgical coal as the critical national resource it truly is," they stated. They further emphasized the potential benefits, saying, "By unleashing American coal production, we're not just keeping the lights on—we're fueling a manufacturing renaissance that will create thousands of jobs in energy communities devastated by the previous administration's reckless policies."

HEAT, as part of the Republican Study Committee, includes 75 members committed to collaborating with the Trump administration to push forward significant energy projects. Their focus is on empowering domestic energy producers, employing an all-inclusive energy strategy, and reestablishing America's energy dominance on the global stage.

The recent measures underscore a clear shift in energy policy focus towards reinforcing coal production, perceived by HEAT as essential to supporting American jobs and manufacturing.
