State Senator Andrew Brenner has formally recognized Michelle Huang, a junior at Olentangy Liberty High School, for her achievements in Kung Fu. Huang was honored with a resolution for earning a silver medal at the 2024 Pan American Kung Fu Championships.

"Michelle’s outstanding ability and spirited drive, as well as her quickness and tenacity, have distinguished her as a superior student athlete who is worthy of special recognition," stated Senator Brenner.

He further praised her success on both national and international stages: "She has represented our state at numerous national and international competitions with tremendous success, gaining the admiration and respect of all those who have witnessed her in action. Her accomplishments will undoubtedly be of great benefit to her throughout her lifetime."

Huang holds the distinction of being the youngest member ever selected for the national adult Kung Fu team. She is also the first person from Ohio to join the national women’s Kung Fu team. Her recent achievement includes winning a silver medal in the Daoshu event at last August's championship held in Santa Clara, California.
