House Energy Action Team Chairman Troy Balderson convened a roundtable on Capitol Hill with representatives from the American energy sector. The meeting focused on legislative goals for 2025 and discussed collaboration between Congress and the private sector to develop policies enhancing U.S. energy leadership. Republican Study Committee Chairman August Pfluger and HEAT Vice Chairman Randy Weber were also present.
The discussion occurred shortly after President Donald Trump returned to office, signing executive orders aimed at reducing regulatory burdens on energy production and promoting American energy exports. HEAT and RSC are expected to play significant roles in supporting these pro-energy policies.
Ohio's 12th Congressional District, represented by Balderson, includes parts of the Utica and Marcellus Shale formations, key areas for natural gas production in the United States. Natural gas from Ohio has contributed to emission reductions while making energy more affordable. During the previous administration, policies restricted American natural gas exports.
Balderson emphasized America's growing energy demand: “We have the capacity to fuel the AI boom happening in Central Ohio and across the country while still providing critical energy supplies to our allies in Europe and across the globe.” He criticized past policies that he claimed undermined U.S. energy security but expressed optimism about future opportunities under President Trump's leadership.
