Congressman Troy Balderson of Ohio's 12th District has been appointed as the new Chairman of the House Energy Action Team (HEAT). The announcement was made by Republican Study Committee Chairman August Pfluger. HEAT, established in 2011 by Majority Leader Steve Scalise, is a coalition of House Republicans focused on promoting energy policies that prioritize American interests.

Balderson emphasized the importance of energy policy in his statement: “We are at an inflection point as a nation. Will we pursue energy dominance and restore the United States’ global leadership, or will we undermine our energy sector and empower our adversaries? For House Republicans, the choice is clear."

He further highlighted how innovation in American energy can create jobs and revitalize communities. "Our nation is blessed with abundant natural resources to drive future growth and export clean, reliable energy to our allies abroad," he added.

RSC Chairman-elect Pfluger expressed confidence in Balderson's capabilities: “His extensive experience, district production, and deep understanding of the importance of America's energy sector make him the ideal choice to lead HEAT.”

Vice Chair-Elect Randy Weber also shared his support for Balderson's appointment: “I’m proud to serve as Vice Chair of HEAT alongside Rep. Balderson as Chair."

Speaker Mike Johnson praised Balderson’s commitment to restoring America’s energy dominance: “His deep understanding of energy policy and his commitment to restoring America’s energy dominance will be invaluable.”

Majority Leader Steve Scalise congratulated Balderson on his new role: “With President Trump returning to the White House and Republican majorities in the Senate and the House, the time to end this historic energy crisis and lower costs for hardworking taxpayers and families is now.”

Majority Whip Tom Emmer endorsed Balderson's leadership skills: “The House Energy Action Team is the leading force behind House Republicans’ work to combat the Democrats’ anti-American energy agenda.”

Balderson serves on several subcommittees related to energy within Congress. His district includes parts of significant natural gas-producing regions such as Utica and Marcellus Shale formations.

The official announcement took place during a ceremony at Capitol Hill.
