Dublin’s Tree Lighting Event and Santa are Coming to Downtown Dublin

The City of Dublin will celebrate old traditions in a new location for the annual Tree Lighting in Riverside Crossing Park (6635 Riverside Drive). This free event will kick off the holiday season from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1.

To get in the holiday spirit, guests can enjoy caroling, dance performances, roaming holiday stilt walkers, ice sculpting, letters to Santa, reindeer and more seasonal activities and entertainment. Guests can purchase hot chocolate and holiday-themed refreshments from Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea in the park’s pavilion. Riverside Crossing Park will shine bright with a display of lights for this holiday event, free and open to the public.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will officially make an appearance to light the 30-foot-tall tree at 6:40 p.m. Once the tree is lit, guests are welcome to take photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus!

Letters may be written and mailed to Santa using the North Pole Mailbox at the event. Or children can also drop their letters in Santa’s mailbox at the Dublin Community Recreation Center after the Tree Lighting event to guarantee on-time delivery to the North Pole before Christmas.

Share kindness this season with the Dublin Police Department’s fourth annual holiday toy drive, Fill A Cruiser. Officers will be onsite collecting new, unwrapped toys, gift cards and monetary donations to give to local families of first responders in need. This is a partnership with Get Behind the Badge.

Free event parking is available in the Bridge Park parking garages and the parking garage beside the Columbus Metropolitan Library – Dublin Branch.
