The City of Dublin will celebrate Independence Day on Monday, July 4, with Jenny Amorose, Chief Operating Officer of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, presiding as grand marshal over the festivities.

In addition to her Dublin Chamber role, Amorose has served as a member of the Dublin City Schools Business Advisory Council, Dublin City Schools Alumni Association and the first chairperson of the Dublin City Schools Alumni Hall of Fame Committee. As Chamber COO, she is an advocate for the business community and helps coordinate resources and services when businesses consider moving to Dublin. One of her most proud achievements is creating the Community Champion Award program to recognize and honor outstanding young citizens of Dublin.

As a member of the City of Dublin’s Census 2020 Leadership Team, she communicated to citizens and corporate residents the importance of completing the census. Amorose also served on the City of Dublin Sustainability Advisory Committee helping to keep residents and businesses informed regarding available resources in the community. She was recently asked to serve on the Dublin Food Pantry Steering Committee’s capital campaign. In addition, Amorose has served the community as a member of the City’s Friendship Association, recognizing and celebrating the cultural diversity of Dublin.

“Dublin has been a part of who I am for my entire life,” said Amorose, a Dublin City Schools alumna. “I am extremely grateful for this recognition and can’t think of a higher honor than being selected as grand marshal for one of Dublin’s most treasured events.”

Amorose was nominated for the honor by former Grand Marshals Page and Cheryl Vornbrock and was confirmed by the Grand Marshal Selection Committee.

“Cheryl and I are extremely proud of Jenny Amorose for what she has contributed to our Dublin business community, to our schools and to the citizens of Dublin,” said Page Vornbrock, a Dublin resident. “We can’t think of anyone more deserving of this honor.”

Amorose is the proud mother of two adult daughters, Julie and Jillian Jakse.

The grand marshal honor is bestowed annually upon an individual or couple who has made a significant contribution to the City of Dublin through volunteer/professional efforts and who has demonstrated patriotism through the development of community and/or community values. The selection committee consisted of past Independence Day Grand Marshals, Dublin’s Mayor Jane Fox and City Manager Dana McDaniel.
