City of Dublin recently issued the following announcement.
The City of Dublin will celebrate Independence Day on Monday, July 4. At this time, the City is seeking nominations for the Grand Marshal to preside over the parade and evening celebration.
The Grand Marshal honor is bestowed annually upon an individual or couple who has made a significant contribution to the City of Dublin through their volunteer or professional efforts and has demonstrated patriotism through the development of community values. Candidates may not be current elected officials, running for office and or have been recognized by the City in the past five years.
Nomination information and nomination forms are available here. The nomination deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, April 29.
The City of Dublin plans include a full day of community entertainment with The Sherm Sheldon Fishing Derby, Independence Day parade, fireworks display and evening concert. Complete schedule of activities and ticket sale information will be coming soon.
