Main Street Delaware, Inc. issued the following announcement on Nov. 26.
On Thanksgiving of an amazing year, we have found ourselves challenged at every turn. From the COVID -19 pandemic that now seems to dominate our daily lives; to the flooding that we experienced in the Spring, to the impact both have had on our Small businesses; to the fact that many of us in Delaware will be apart from our families at Thanksgiving for the first time in many years.
But we also have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving Day.
We live in a Community where rather than complain we ask first, “what can we do to help?”
We have great leaders that are thoughtful! We have wonderful schools and library. Amazing healthcare, and public safety officers that work hard day in and day out to keep us safe. Small business owners who are always reevaluating their service offering to better accommodate our community.
We have great parks, wildlife, sunrises and sunsets, the moon and stars, beauty all around us. We also have access to technology that allows us to see or hear our friends and family members that we may not be able to be close to.
