Smart Parking In Westerville

ParkingApp_Social

The City's exclusive free parking mobile application is available for download! Created with Parking Genius by Fybr, the application helps users find available parking in Uptown Westerville. Simply search "Westerville Parking" in your mobile application store (Google Play | App Store) to download.

The Westerville Parking application communicates with small sensors installed in the asphalt of more than 360 parking spaces in four public lots in Uptown Westerville (see map for A, B, C and D lot location.)

Electric Vehicles: The historic heart of Westerville now features charging amenities for electric vehicles. Two chargers (a total of four ports) are available the new parking area in the lot behind Westerville City Hall (accessed from West College Avenue). Read more.

These sensors communicate space vacancies to the mobile application, which in turn tells users how many spaces are available in real-time. The app even provides turn-by-turn directions to the parking lot.

The sensor technology does not capture personal information, such as license plate numbers, car make or models, etc. Only information related to the use of the monitored parking spots will be recorded. The mobile application indicates only the number of open spaces and cannot be used to reserve specific parking spots. Users are given the option of creating an account or proceeding as a guest. Visit the Transparency Hub to view data collected from the sensors.

The pilot program will run in Uptown for up to 16 months, after which point Westerville City Council will evaluate its success and determine if the program will continue.
