Congressman Troy Balderson (OH-12) concluded Energy Week on Capitol Hill by emphasizing the importance of passing pro-energy bills to counteract what he perceives as harmful policies from the Biden Administration. Balderson stated, “House Republicans have worked nonstop since retaking the House majority to re-establish the United States as the global leader in energy and halt President Biden’s war on American energy.”

During the week, several bills were passed, including the Protecting American Energy Production Act, which prohibits the President from unilaterally banning fracking. Balderson, a co-sponsor of the bill, highlighted the significance of states, not the federal government, regulating fracking for oil and natural gas production.

Another bill, the Repeal of Section 134 of the Clean Air Act, aimed to repeal the EPA’s green bank slush fund and the natural gas tax under the Inflation Reduction Act. Balderson stressed that these measures would prevent an increase in energy prices for consumers and limit domestic natural gas production.

In addition, a resolution denouncing the anti-American energy policies of the Biden Administration was passed, with Balderson criticizing these policies for jeopardizing national security and increasing the cost of living for Americans.

Furthermore, the Restoring American Energy Dominance Act and the Creating Confidence in Clean Water Permitting Act were also approved, focusing on withdrawing regulations limiting domestic oil and gas production and reforming permitting processes under the Clean Water Act, respectively.

Expressing disapproval of a federal tax on carbon released from fossil fuels, the Sense of Congress Resolution highlighted the potential negative impacts such a tax could have on the U.S. economy.

Balderson's efforts as a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee have consistently aimed to promote domestic energy production, protect consumer choice, keep energy costs low, and ensure the reliability of the American electric grid.

In conclusion, Balderson's push for pro-energy legislation during Energy Week reflects his commitment to challenging what he perceives as detrimental energy policies and advocating for the interests of American energy production and security.
