The City of Delaware Public Utilities Department has been monitoring the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio. This area is well outside our local watershed and poses no risk to our local water supplies. We test daily for contaminants and have not seen any changes to our quality.
In addition:
- City of Delaware source water is not impacted by the Ohio River
- The City of Delaware has multiple source water options
- The City of Delaware can use different sources until spills are cleaned up
