Freshman Luke Milanovich (Powell/Dublin Jerome) recorded a pin and senior Donovan Ortiz (Port St. Lucie, Fla./American Heritage) won on a technical fall to lead Ohio Wesleyan to a dual-meet win over Mount St. Joseph on Thursday at Branch Rickey Arena.
Ortiz opened the meet with a 16-0 technical fall over Nathan Hamman at 125.
The Lions took the lead at 6-5 when Desmond Diggs pinned freshman Jimmy Baumann (Dublin/Coffman) with :55 left in the second period at 133, but the Bishops bounced back as freshman Gabe Bulugaris (Lewis Center/Olentangy) posted a 10-7 decision over Noah Harvel at 141 and Milanovich pinned Jorden Zigo with :51 left in the first period at 149 to give the Bishops a 14-6 lead.
MSJ's Brody Gray recorded a 5-3 decision over sophomore Tim Alexander (Noblesville, Ind.) at 157, but sophomore Tyler Bodovetz (Streetsboro) took a 10-3 verdict over Skyler Cowgill at 165 and senior Jaret Lowry (Litchfield/Buckeye Senior) recorded a medical forfeit over Alex Hobbs at 174 for a 23-9 Ohio Wesleyan lead.
The visitors closed to within 23-15 after the 184 matchup, with Cornell Beachem pinning sophomore Desmon Perry (Garnet Valley, Pa.) with :10 left in the second period.
Sophomore Geoffrey Kaminski (Lewis Center/Olentangy Orange) outlasted Kaleb Gelter for a 6-4 decision at 197, stretching the Bishop lead to 26-15, and the match wrapped up when MSJ's Gary Powell pinned freshman Joe Shoup (Ashland/Mapleton) with 1:41 left in the second period at 285.
