DORA Boundaries, Hours Expand

101

Westerville is expanding hours and boundaries for the Uptown Westerville DORA, or Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area, beginning May 16.

A DORA is essentially a limited exception to open container laws allowing licensed liquor establishments within a designated area to sell alcohol in marked cups to adults (ages 21 or older). Adults are then permitted to take those cups outside the establishment, within the designated zone, during a set time.

New Hours

  • Monday-Friday: 4-10 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sunday: 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
Boundary Expansion

The DORA is expanding north to include Birdie Books and south to Northstar. See updated boundary map below.

Participating Liquor Establishments

Establishments with liquor licenses may choose to sell DORA beverages. Look for signage or window clings indicating if a restaurant is participating. Find a list of establishments.

Beverages purchased from a DORA-participating establishment may be taken inside a store or boutique if that merchant permits it. Look for "DORA Welcome" stickers.
