Delaware County, OHIO, Sheriff's Office issued the following announcement on Dec. 1.
Our first significant amount of snowfall has been forecasted for Delaware County Ohio, beginning later today. YAY, winter weather has officially arrived. *Insert sarcastic eyeroll*
Although we aren't quite ready for the wintry mix of weather, we are prepared to keep you informed of roadway conditions and safety concerns. In the event roadways become hazardous for driving, the Sheriff's Office will issue a snow and ice level emergency. Please sign-up for Snow Level Alerts by by texting DELCOSNOW to 888777, and follow along on our social media pages and website to receive snow and ice emergency alerts.
It’s been several months since we’ve seen winter weather, so we want to remind you to drive cautiously and slow down during wintry conditions. Snow and ice on the roadways can increase the amount of time needed for a vehicle to come to a complete stop. Keep this in mind in case you have to come to a stop suddenly. Lastly, please allow room for plows to work by keeping a safe distance away.
That’s all for our Monday morning PSA! Have a safe week!
