State Representative Brian Lorenz (R-Powell) has announced that applications are now open for the Capitol Square Foundation School Transportation Grant. The application period will close on September 22 at 11:59 p.m.

According to Lorenz, “The Capital Foundation School Transportation Grant helps offset transportation costs for our school districts, allowing teachers and parents to focus resources where they are needed most on educating our children. By easing this financial burden, the grant ensures that students from every community, regardless of zip code, have the opportunity to experience Ohio’s rich history firsthand. These trips instill a sense of civic pride, respect for the sacrifices of past generations, and a deeper appreciation for the values that make Ohio strong.”

The Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board and the Capitol Square Foundation plan to award grants to 81 schools across Ohio. The funding will help cover transportation expenses for school visits to the Ohio Statehouse and its museum.

Applications must be submitted online by an authorized teacher or school administrator.
