FOIA Request to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments from January to September 2024.
On September 26, 2024, we at DeKalb Times sent a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140) to Dekalb County. The request was for records of all payments made to vendors within the period of January 1, 2024, through September 26, 2024.
The requested records should include the following fields: Vendor Name, Transaction Date, Transaction Description, and Amount. This information is vital in our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.
As a media organization dedicated to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, access to such public records is essential for us. We believe that our role in disseminating information makes us eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
