Justin Páez / Dublin Police Chief | City of Dublin

The Dublin Police Department is aware of a phone scam that is using our agency’s name.

During this scam, the caller ID will display “Dublin Dispatch,” with the caller telling the person answering the phone that they have missed a court date or jury duty.

Dublin Police officers are not making these calls, and the department will never ask you for payment of any kind over the phone.

“As scammers continue their efforts to defraud us, we have to stay one step ahead as a community,” Dublin Police Chief Justin Páez says. “This latest scam involving the Dublin Police is a sharp reminder that your local police department will never ask you for money over the phone. Knowing important details like these will help prevent loss of property in the future while keeping residents safe.”

If you are the victim of this scam, please contact your local police department. The Dublin Police’s non-emergency line is 614.889.1112.
