City of Westerville recently issued the following announcement.
Once again, the City of Westerville has been awarded the highest form of recognition for governmental accounting and reporting. This year marks the 38th-consecutive year the
City has received the honor. The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) presented the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in
Financial Reporting for the City’s comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2020.
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 19,000 appointed and elected local, state and provincial-level government officials and other finance
professionals. According to GFOA representatives, the CAFR was judged by an impartial panel of finance experts to ensure the demonstration of a “spirit of full disclosure” and
transparency.
