City of Delaware, Ohio - Government issued the following announcement on Nov. 17.
Crews working on the City Hall renovation recently uncovered some of the original 1903s-era decorative features, including plaster reliefs along the ceiling of the original courtroom and council meeting space. We hope to incorporate some of the period designs and artwork into the renovated second-floor space.
Work on the 83-year-old municipal building’s basement and first floor spaces is close to completion, while the second-floor makeover commenced this month. The work is expected to be complete in late January 2021, delayed somewhat by the pandemic and supply chain issues. The updates are the building’s first in nearly 30 years and address four critical areas: safety and security; public access and customer service; mechanical systems; and workspaces.
