UH CLEVELAND MEDICAL CENTER: Depression: Unexpected Consequence of Heart Attack, Heart Surgery or Stroke

UH Cleveland Medical Cente issued the following announcement on Oct. 9.

Studies show that up to 33% of heart attack patients develop some degree of depression. Dr. Claire Sullivan explains why, including what family members or partners should know.

If you have a heart attack, heart surgery or stroke, the immediate concern is your physical health. But once you begin your journey to physical recovery, it’s important to keep tabs on your mental health as well.
