Ohio Health Care Providers Applaud Balderson’s Leadership on Digital Health

Health care groups in Ohio are commending Congressman Troy Balderson for his initiative to enhance access to affordable and quality care through the establishment of the Congressional Digital Health Caucus. Eric Drobny, M.D., President of the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA), expressed gratitude towards Congressman Balderson, stating, “OSMA thanks Congressman Balderson for his leadership in the formation of the Bipartisan Congressional Digital Health Caucus.” Drobny emphasized the importance of policymakers staying informed about digital health innovation to address healthcare system impacts and improve access and affordability of healthcare.

Julie DiRossi-King, CEO & President of the Ohio Association of Community Health Centers (OACHC), also praised Balderson and Congresswoman Kelly for creating the Congressional Digital Health Caucus. DiRossi-King highlighted the significance of innovation and technology in breaking down barriers and enhancing access to care, particularly in under-resourced areas. She commended the caucus for its focus on exploring cutting-edge developments in digital health to enhance patient outcomes and healthcare efficiency.

Mike Abrams, President and CEO of the Ohio Hospital Association, acknowledged the transformative impact of technology and innovation on healthcare delivery. Abrams expressed appreciation for Congressman Balderson's leadership in driving digital health innovation, emphasizing its substantial effects on population health management, clinical integration, convenience, and access in hospitals. He expressed eagerness to collaborate with policymakers on these critical healthcare issues.

Balderson, alongside Congresswoman Robin Kelly, founded the Digital Health Caucus, with members including Representatives Jeff Duncan, Kevin Hern, Terri Sewell, Richard Hudson, Becca Balint, and David Schweikert. In his legislative efforts, Balderson introduced bills like the Remote Opioid Monitoring Act, aimed at promoting remote patient monitoring to track medication adherence and vital signs, especially beneficial for patients prescribed opioids in combating addiction and abuse.
